TOO OLD TO LEARN FROM THE YOUNG GUNS!!!?

Trainingcamp with the Norwegian National Team here in Sandnes/ Norway this weekend. We had sun, in fact it felt like spring, we had cold wind and we had rain and hail this last day. We trained in Vagleskogen, Melseheia and Njåskogen, fantastic trails for us that loves of road riding...trying to show the "Creme dela Creme" of my local trails.

The main goal for this gathering was to share knowledge together as a team. We had some flat tires, a broken chain and some crashes, and of course some tired, but smiling, MTB riders. Friday it was power training and power sprints on the program. 10x 2 min low cadens climbing gravel road, plus power sprints into single trails (about 30-45 sec. endurance).

Saturday we did a long distance ride with lots of single trails and super technical training in our Rio Track in Njåskogen. Great FUN as always. Today we had intervals with focus on speed and explosivety, total of 45 minutes high intensity. Speed, endurance, technical and high pulse both going up and down. Always extra challenging hitting the muddy trails with high pulse.

Did we have some crazy moments...yes we had a stray dog passing our trails at top speed while doing sprinting on Friday. Maximum braking and bike handling on top level, no big axcident.

Today it was really windy, wet and cold, but it is possible to survive these condition when you ride with a motivated group that loves the sport. If you bring dry clothes for changing half way through the workout, it makes a big difference. Minimum chance for getting sick but also the comfort feeling, warm and nice, for the last hour of your ride.

Did I learn something from the young guns? Yes of course I learn something form the young ones and that why I have been competitive for so many years. I find motivation in seeing these young rider how they love riding the bike and end being out there in the elements that nature gives us.

I know that the group had fantastic training days her together with Kenneth and me and they travel back home with some new impulse, some more knowledge and tons of motivation being together as a team that work hard towards future goals. We had a lot of FUN riding off road this weekend and I feel happy.

Cycling greetings from Gunn-Rita

"Nye uniformer - Nye utfordringer - Nye muligheter"

I love championships

On Sunday we have the European Championship XCO in Italy I feel good and healthy and well prepared. A great Norwegian Team with strong juniors and U-23 men that will show the norwegian colors with pride.

MIN NYE BLOGG
